History

A 50-year-old male with a history of diabetes mellitus and hypertension and MRSA osteomyelitis of the foot complained of band-like low back pain involving the lower abdomen. The clinical query was to identify the presence of an aortic aneurysm. The patient underwent an abdomen-pelvis CT scan (Figures 1-3). No aortic aneurysm was identified (not shown). Based on the results of the CT, the patient subsequently underwent a biopsy/aspiration for further evaluation (Figure 4).
