As a Level I Trauma Center, VCU Medical Center is always looking for ways to enhance the care and safety of the patients that it services. When receiving a critical care patient transferred from another medical facility, time is always of the essence and getting crucial information as soon as possible helps our physicians to diagnose and care for their patients. This is why the Department of Radiology has teamed up with DR Systems to implement eMix, a software solution that allows for the electronic transfer of medical imaging studies.
This cloud-based product enhances patient care by eliminating the need to have medical imaging studies transferred by means of physically transporting a CD to the receiving medical facility, a common process for many hospitals and medical centers. Easy to use, vendor-neutral, inexpensive and secure, eMix provides a great deal of flexibility that is needed in today's medical industry.
