Women's Imaging Fellowship
We offer a one-year fellowship focused on the imaging of women-related diseases. The fellow spends six months in breast imaging (breast magnetic resonance, ultrasound, mammography, and biopsy) and six months in abdominal imaging (computed tomography, magnetic resonance and ultrasound).
There is a large volume and a diverse spectrum of diseases related to women seen at the institution with strong clinical departments, including Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), GYN oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, internal medicine and pathology. There is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center, VCU Massey Cancer Center featuring a breast health group dedicated to integrated and expedited care of breast cancer patients. There is also a women’s health group focused on women’s health issues of all kinds. There are state-of-the-art computed tomography and magnetic resonance scanners at multiple clinical sites, and a large number of abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance exams are performed daily.

Women's Imaging Fellowship
- The fellow will spend six months in Abdominal Imaging focusing on diseases and disorders of women and will spend six months in Breast Imaging learning the full spectrum of breast imaging techniques including mammography, Breast ultrasound and MR , and breast biopsy. Abdominal Imaging will focus primarily on CT and MR imaging as well as ultrasound not only gynecological imaging but other common diseases, which occur in women.
- The fellow will be expected to participate in sectional conferences, especially the Gynecological Oncology Conference, multiple Breast Imaging Conferences, as well as interact with the multidisciplinary Breast Health group.
- The fellow will benefit from large patient volume and wide range of pathology seen in major tertiary medical center with wide referral area, large Gynecology Department and comprehensive cancer center as well as dedicated Breast Health Center.
- Training provides skills for wide range of future career choices.
- Learn from the experts-highly skilled, experienced and available faculty.
- Call -- Plain Film Call Pool, no more frequent than every fifth weekend, no night call.
- The fellowship is under the direction and supervision of the Abdominal Imaging and Breast Imaging Section Chiefs.
