The mission of the VCU Department of Radiology is to create a world-class department by providing optimal care in a patient-centered environment, providing sub-specialty expertise, providing top quality imaging and therapeutic procedures, and to advance medical education and research, with a vision to be recognized nationally and internationally as a world-class radiology department.

Faculty Opportunities

The VCU Department of Radiology is currently recruiting for three faculty positions:

  • Abdominal Imaging
  • General Radiology
  • Musculoskeletal Imaging
  • Pediatric Imaging

Qualifications

American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification or documentation of passing the Core Component of the ABR Board examination is required. Applicants must be eligible for a Virginia medical license and for permanent employment in the United States.

Interest in teaching is a requirement to support our 36 residents and multiple fellows. The Department offers research opportunities and participates in numerous ongoing interdisciplinary research projects with many departments. 

The applicant must demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. 

Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

VCU Health

VCU Health has a 600-physician-faculty group practice, 822-bed hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, a comprehensive cancer center, a free-standing children's hospital, an active transplantation service, and extensive outpatient services at the downtown Richmond campus and in the surrounding localities. Each facility hosts state-of-the-art equipment ranging from computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound to mammography and X-ray.
