Radiology Department Renovation and Expansion Updates
Our Main 3 renovation project is underway. This major construction project includes a new vascular interventional radiology suite with new equipment, a 5th interventional radiology room with expanded patient recovery space, and an interventional suite with dedicated CT and ultrasound. While we added a new CT scanner, we moved our MR scanners to Gateway Basement. Nuclear Medicine, which is located in Gateway 2, will also receive a new SPECT CT unit. New reading rooms will occupy the space formerly used as Main 3 faculty offices, which recently moved to West Hospital. The Radiology Conference Room also moved to West Hospital.
The Radiology Department now occupies the entire 2nd floor of the West Hospital and includes the majority of our faculty offices, administrative staff space, and the Radiology Residency Director’s office. Our new office furniture is in place and faculty members are starting to move in. Once complete, this expansion project will increase our presence and advance our capabilities in Richmond.
